Meet Our Staff

Jim Kutzer is President and Owner of Jim Kutzer Insurance Agency, Inc.  Jim was born and raised in Yreka and graduated from California State University Fresno with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.  His minor in college was Insurance.  With over 36 years of experience as an insurance agent, Jim has established himself as a knowledgeable leader in the health, life, Medicare, Medicare Prescription Drug, and supplemental (Aflac) insurance markets in Siskiyou County.  He enjoys outdoor activities, sporting events, hunting, fishing, and the family yellow Labrador retrievers.

Jimmy was born and raised in Yreka. After graduating from Yreka High School in 2008, he pursued his Bachelors of Science Degree in Journalism at the University of Oregon. Upon graduating from UO in 2012, Jimmy took a custom apparel sales job in Seattle, Washington. In the Spring of 2016, Jimmy opted to move home to obtain his insurance licenses and begin the family succession plan at Jim Kutzer Insurance Agency, Inc. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoys hunting, fishing, working out, and exploring new places with his wife Ali and yellow labs Walter and Hank.

Kathy Kutzer is Vice President and Office Manager of Jim Kutzer Insurance Agency, Inc.  Kathy grew up in Yreka and is a member of a fifth generation Siskiyou County family.  She is a graduate of the University of California at Davis where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Managerial Economics.  After 12 years as a Deputy Probation Officer for Siskiyou County, Kathy became licensed as an insurance agent in 1998 and joined her husband in the operations of their business.  She receives great satisfaction from helping clients with their Aflac claims.

Joelle was born and raised in Siskiyou County and started working at Jim Kutzer Insurance Agency in the Fall of 2014.  She graduated from Yreka High School in 2007 and went on to attend and graduate from College of the Siskiyous and California State University Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Photography.  Shortly after graduating, Joelle and her husband returned to Siskiyou County where they are very active in the community with the local YMCA.  Joelle’s favorite things include cats, coffee, photography, watching sports, and spending time with her family and friends.

Linda was born and raised in Scott Valley and began working for Jim Kutzer Insurance Agency in 1998. Linda began her insurance career at Scott Valley Insurance Agency in 1982, after attending College of the Siskiyous. Linda has over 30 years experience as a licensed Property/Casualty insurance agent. She makes her home in Etna with her partner of 36 years, Bill Deppen. Linda likes watching local sports, reading, fishing and playing with the family Labradors.
